This dip has been tested every which way and that! It took so many tries to get it just perfect, testing with various types of frosting and trying it without. But ultimately, there are very few things that can replicate the authentic and ironically very artificial taste of Dunkaroo dip other than frosting itself.
So, we settled on a better-for-you frosting made with coconut oil and no weird ingredients from Mrs. Jones. But feel free to use any vanilla frosting you like! Whip it up for you or the kids and enjoy this healthier high protein dessert with fruit or crackers, no protein powder required 😎.

frosting is a must for authentic flavor!
Just a heads up! I tested this protein dip recipe many ways-with maple syrup, honey, even tofu-but there's no way to replicate that true Dunkaroo flavor without frosting. It's a must for it to actually taste like the dip and not just vanilla Greek yogurt.

key ingredients & swaps
All substitutions are a 1:1 substitute unless otherwise noted. See the recipe card for quantities.
- Confetti pop frosting: I used one made with coconut oil and simple ingredients, but use whatever you like-just make sure it's vanilla and has sprinkles! This is what gives it that authentic Dunkaroo or cake batter dip taste.
- Plain Greek yogurt and cottage cheese: For protein and creaminess without added sugar. Both are necessary for that ultra-creamy taste with the tang of Greek yogurt. Any fat level works to make this healthy dessert dip.
- Collagen Peptides: I use the grass-fed one from Orgain because it adds 18g of protein per serving without added flavor. Marine collagen is another great choice, but lower in protein.
- Dippers: Graham crackers or fruit both pair great with funfetti dip.

step by step: tips to nail this recipe every time
- Blend until completely smooth. No curds should remain-this makes all the difference in texture for a cottage cheese dip.
- Chill if you have time. The dip will thicken as it sits in the fridge, making it even better for dipping.
- Try different dippers. Graham crackers are classic, but apple slices and strawberries work great too.

can you make this ahead of time?
Yes! Actually, this funfetti dip gets better after sitting in the fridge. The flavors blend together, and it thickens up nicely. Make it 2-3 hours ahead or even the night before for best results.
If you have leftovers, though, use it as a topping for vanilla protein cupcakes or this 3-ingredient banana chocolate mug cake. Perfect for a kid friendly protein snack!

mix-it up!
- Chocolate dunkaroo dip: Swap the confetti frosting for chocolate frosting and add mini chocolate chips instead of sprinkles. Kind of like a high-protein chocolate mousse!
- Dairy-free: Use dairy-free yogurt and skip the cottage cheese-add an extra ½ cup of dairy-free yogurt instead. Just know the texture will be thinner, and you'll lose some protein. Cocojune protein yogurt works best.
- Extra Thick: If you are ok with protein powder, feel free to add in ½ a scoop of vanilla protein powder. This will increase protein and thicken this no bake dessert.

Instructions
- Blend everything up until smooth and no curds remain. If you have time to let it chill in the fridge - great! It'll thicken up as it chills.Top with sprinkles just before serving because certain sprinkles' color will bleed (the all-natural ones in particular) into the dip. So, to keep that pure white color, add the sprinkles right before serving.
- Feel free to add in mix-ins like crushed cookies (hello Oreos!), nuts, chocolate chips, etc., to really amp it up!
