high protein dunkaroo dip (no protein powder)

This high protein dunkaroo dip brings back all the nostalgic flavors of childhood, but with 16g of protein and no protein powder. Made with Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and confetti frosting, it's ready in 5 minutes and pairs perfectly with graham crackers or fresh fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 11.9 oz container confetti pop frosting any brand you like*
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup cottage cheese
  • 6 scoops Unflavored collagen peptides ⅓-1/2 cup depending on scoop size**

Instructions

  • Blend everything up until smooth and no curds remain. If you have time to let it chill in the fridge - great! It’ll thicken up as it chills.
Top with sprinkles just before serving because certain sprinkles' color will bleed (the all-natural ones in particular) into the dip. So, to keep that pure white color, add the sprinkles right before serving.
  • Feel free to add in mix-ins like crushed cookies (hello Oreos!), nuts, chocolate chips, etc., to really amp it up!

Notes

*For frosting: I used one made with coconut oil and simple ingredients from Mrs. Jones, but use whatever vanilla one you like, just make sure it has sprinkles! Sugar free works too.
**For collagen, I use Orgain Grass Fed Collagen Peptides with 18g of protein per serving/2 scoops.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. The dip will firm up as it chills—just give it a quick stir before serving if needed.
Using collagen vs protein powder: I know the viral Dunkaroo dip uses protein powder and while it will give you a low calorie dunkaroo dip, it also creates that classic protein powder, chalky taste that I just can't get behind. Collagen, on the other hand, is totally unflavored and mixes seamlessly, but brands vary a lot in protein content.
Can I make it without frosting? I tested this at least 5 different ways with and without protein powder, with maple syrup instead of frosting, etc, but for a healthier Dunkaroo dip that actually tasted like the real thing, it came down to actually including actual frosting, which obviously ups the calories.
What can I enjoy this with? Because this is a higher-calorie protein-packed dessert dip, I prefer to enjoy it with fruit like apple slices, strawberries, and banana. But pretzels, animal crackers, Teddy Grahams, and vanilla wafers are all delicious too.
