I'm not a crazy fan of yogurt, but Greek yogurt is an awesome way to pack in protein. And, as my viral brownie batter yogurt parfait can confirm, it makes a great base for a high protein dessert or snack!
yogurt as a dessert??
Yes, just trust me on this one. When you add chocolate or cocoa powder to Greek yogurt, it basically becomes a high protein pudding! It's one of our top favorite in our list of Greek yogurt dessert recipes.
And it's not just me - thousands of people on Instagram also loved my first high-protein yogurt parfait and my smores cottage cheese cookie dough dip! So here's why you need to make it and why you'll love it:
- No protein powder but 20 grams of protein
- Ready in 5 minutes
- A taste of summer without the bonfire!
- Can easily be made sugar free if that's your jam
And finally, for one last hoorah, these jars can be prepped in advance and then served as dessert to summer guests. If you're hanging out outside, you can use plastic jars or even old peanut butter tubs that have been cleaned (great for kids)! Don't worry, I've got tips for prepping yogurt parfaits further down in this post.
happy cooking!

how to make a high protein smores yogurt parfait
1. make the graham cracker crumble
I like to mix mine with coconut sugar and cinnamon in a blender or food processor. And then mixing it with melted butter to a wet sand texture is just *chef's kiss*. Put half of it in a jar.
2. make the smores yogurt
You're going to mix vanilla instant pudding with greek yogurt (adjust based on how sweet you want it). Take half of this out and add it to the jar on top of the graham cracker crumble.
3. chocolate time
Add the chocolate to the remaining vanilla yogurt. Add this to the vanilla yogurt in the jar.
4. layer and toast
Top the chocolate layer with the remaining graham cracker crumble and marshmallow fluff. It's optional to toast this, but BOY, is it good! Finish with an extra cracker and drizzle of chocolate syrup!

allergy and dietary swaps
All substitutions are a 1:1 substitute unless otherwise noted. See recipe card for quantities.
- Make it dairy free: chocolate syrup and pudding mixture is already dairy free. So, you just need to swap the yogurt for your favorite plant based high protein yogurt. I love Siggis for this!
- Make it sugar free: You can easily use sugar free chocolate syrup and sugar free vanilla pudding.
variations
- Other mix-ins: You can use crumbeled protein brownie bark, brownie batter protein balls, high protein edible cookie dough, or monster cookie protein bites instead of granola.
- Peanut butter parfait: Instead of marshmallow (or with), you can layer this with banana slices and a drizzle of peanut butter.
- Mocha parfait: To kick off your morning, you can add a teaspoon of espresso powder to the yogurt mixture.
- Make it frozen: If you want this in a bite-sized frozen version, try our frozen yogurt smores clusters!

helpful tips
- Adjust the sweetness: Everyone has a different level of sweetness, and every one tastes different. So, taste and adjust to meet your own preferences.
- For meal prepping, layer this directly in jars or airtight storage containers for less clean up and mess.
can I use vanilla greek yogurt?
Yup, just use less pudding powder and less chocolate syrup. Just be sure to taste and adjust.
how to store & make it ahead
fridge
Protein yogurt parfaits will last for 4 days in the fridge in an airtight container. but, I would wait to add the granola until you are ready to eat it.
how to make it ahead of time
The key to storing parfaits is in the layering. To make these in advance to enjoy throughout the week, layer all the yogurt on the bottom, then the marshmallows. Keep the graham cracker mixture in a separate little bag or container and add it right before eating the smores parfait.
Storing it in a mason jar is super efficient and easy to transport too!
