Frozen Potstickers made in the air fryer are so dang easy without the mess! With these tricks, you will have perfectly crisp potstickers that are just as juicy on the inside as the day they were made!
I put off buying an air fryer for a long time. Like, 3 years after my mom raved about hers. They are just so bulky! Turns out - they are amazing and there is a reason to add that bulk to your kitchen.
Fast forward to approximately 2 days, 3 hours, and 24 minutes after opening our new toaster oven air fryer combo, I am in the mood for frozen potstickers. I absolutely hate making them though because the oil ends up EVERYWHERE. Yes, we have a splatter guard but that doesn’t stop it from getting all over the stove and me when I am trying to flip the pot stickers.
This is where I turn to that beautiful silver air fryer. I tossed them in the basket with a little oil and my gosh, they were perfect in so much less time than if I had used the oven!
Air fryers are able to cook so quickly because it is circulating hot air all around. This means heat is hitting your food from all sides rather than a traditional oven cooking method that heats from one or two sides. So, let me show you exactly how to make frozen dumplings in your own air fryer.

Ingredients and Substitutions
All substitutions are a 1:1 substitute unless otherwise noted
Frozen Potstickers: When I talk about potstickers, I may also use the term dumpling interchangeably with potsticker. A dumpling is any kind of filling that is wrapped and sealed inside a wrapper made of rice paper, pasta, or dough. So, a potsticker is a type of dumpling.
Substitutions: We use the frozen pack from Costco made by New Bibigo but Trader Joe's also has really good beef or vegetable potstickers. Feel free to make your own or use whatever frozen dumplings you like!
Oil: The oil helps to get crispy dumplings without drying out the potstickers. We used olive oil spray but adding a few tablespoons of sesame oil would take these air fry potstickers to the next level!
Substitutions: Using cooking spray oil is a great way to evenly coat the potstickers. However, feel free to use whatever vegetable oil you want such as avocado oil, olive oil, canola oil, etc.
How to Make this - Step by Step
Step one: Place frozen potstickers in a single layer in a metal basket.
Step two: Spray them evenly with oil. If not using spray oil, you can toss the frozen potstickers in a bowl with a drizzle of oil, toss to coat, and then transfer them to the air fryer basket.
Step three: Turn your air fryer on to 375 degrees f and set the timer for a 10-minute cooking time. After 8 minutes, flip each potsticker. Return for the remaining 2 minutes to finish cooking. You may need to add a couple of minutes depending on your personal preference of how crispy you want them and how your air fryer cooks. See! This is one of the fastest ways to make crunchy potstickers.

Joy Tip!
Use spray oil to make your life simpler! This can be sprayed directly into the basket and results in using less than if you drizzled the oil over the potstickers.

Fridge: To keep these in the fridge, store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in the air fryer again, although they may become too crisp or dry out. You can also reheat them in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, just place a paper towel underneath to absorb any excess liquid.
Freezer: To store in the freezer, store in a sealed container in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, follow the steps laid out below although be aware that the second time reheating will result in a loss of texture.
