apple pie protein shake
This apple milshake packs 16 grams of protein without protein powder and is ready in 5 minutes. It has all the flavors of fall! Using frozen apples with the skins on keeps the fiber high and doesn't require ice. This means it keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days without the texture being watered down.

- 3 apples diced and frozen
- ¼ c plain non-fat greek yogurt
- ¼ cup 2% cottage cheese
- 3 dates pitted, see notes for softening if needed
- 3 tablespoon peanut butter powder PB fit preferred
- 2 tablespoon pure maple syrup or agave or honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
- 1 cup soy milk or milk of choice
- ½ teaspoon minced ginger
Dice and freeze your apples as needed. Freeze for at least 6 hours. If your blender has a hard time blending dates, place them in a ¼ c of hot water and cover. Let them sit for 15 minutes or so to soften then drain off the excess water before adding to the blender.
Add everything to a blender and blend well. If your cottage cheese has a lot of water on top, drain that off.
Storage: This shake will keep in the fridge (already blended) and in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You might need to give it a stir before enjoying it again.
Meal Prep: For meal prep, I will freeze the apples and then put everything else preportioned into a mason jar. Keep this in the fridge, and then in the morning, just toss the contents into the blender with the apples. This also softens the dates without added hot water, so they should blend up better.
