- 2 teaspoon matcha tea powder ceremonial grade (super green)* see notes for making with coffee
- ½ cup water super hot
- 1 ½ cup milk of choice (I use almond or whole)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 teaspoon maple syrup see notes for using brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon agave see notes for using white sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 serving collagen optional for 10-20g of protein depending on brand
Make the matcha by whisk together the matcha powder, half of the maple syrup and agave, and hot water till frothy and dissolved.
Add the other ingredients to an electric frother or large jar. Use the electric frother to mix and heat the sugar cookie creamer. If not using a mixer, heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and then use a whisk to mix.Helpful Tip: I like to do this in a large glass measuring cup if I'm not using the electric frother. To make it on the stovetop, add everything to a pot over low heat. Stir constantly to combine and until the milk is heated through. Combine the creamer mixture with the matcha and enjoy!
To Make An Iced Latte: To make this iced, just make the matcha as directed and then pour over ice. Make the milk and sugar cookie mixture the same, but don’t heat the milk up. If you’re using granulated sugar and the stove top, then just make the whole latte and pour over ice.
To make an iced sugar cookie latte: Follow the creamer instructions and then pour over 1-2 shots espresso or ⅓-1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee.
Common Questions:
Can I make this with brown sugar or white sugar?
Yes, you can use brown sugar for the maple syrup and white sugar for the agave. Just add everything to a pot and heat over the stove to dissolve the sugar.
Can I make a larger batch?
Yes, you can make a large batch of what I’m calling the sugar cookie creamer. Just double or triple the recipe and store it in the fridge for up to 1 week. The matcha is harder because if it isn’t mixed all the way, the powder will sink to the bottom and get sticky so I always make fresh matcha.
Can I make this with coffee?
Yup, this sugar cookie creamer makes a very good sugar cookie latte with strong coffee or espresso! Just swap it out for the matcha and water.
Storage Tips
This is best enjoyed right away but any leftovers of the hot latte can be stored in the fridge for 4 days and reheated in the microwave or over the stove. Just give it a stir before enjoying it again and you might have a thin milk film develop on top - just scrap this off. If iced, then leftovers can’t be stored and you’ll just need to chug!
