Ingredients

- Ground bison (or beef) - Onions, bell peppers, garlic - Tomato Sauce & paste - Maple syrup - Mustard - Worcestershire sauce - Seasonings

Brown the bison in a large pan or Dutch oven. Cook on medium heat until the meat is partially browned. Use a spatula or spoon to break up while browning.

Step 1

Finely chop the onion and bell pepper. Then, add them along with the garlic to the pan. Cook for a few minutes with the bison.

Step 2

Add the remaining sauces and spices to the pan with the bison and vegetables. Mix to combine everything until the bison and vegetables are coated.

Step 3

Reduce to low heat and let this mixture simmer for 10 minutes so the flavors meld together. Give it a stir every few minutes.

Step 4

Once the sloppy joe filling is done, make your sandwiches and enjoy! These are great on their own, or with toppings such as chips or pickles.
